On renovation projects, progress lives in WhatsApp groups and people's heads. Tradespeople don't have time for forms or admin on site, and contractors struggle to show clients what's happening without oversharing internal notes.

I designed around one principle, "Snap & Go": a tradesperson should be able to post an update in about ten seconds. Open a room, take a photo, optionally record a voice note, post. Every design decision was tested against one question: does this help someone on site capture information faster, or help the contractor inform the client better?

A mobile-first timeline per room, with photos and voice notes as the main content and text optional. One colour rule carries the whole app: orange means internal work, blue means the client can see it. Contractors share an update with one tap, 56px touch targets work with gloves on, and updates post instantly and upload later when the connection comes back.

A focused MVP that deliberately leaves out invoicing, quotes, time tracking and planning. Clients get a visual progress feed instead of a chat, and tradespeople get an app they can use with dirty hands in bright daylight.
